Hello & Thank You for taking the time to check out this page! I have recently launched a new fundraising campaign to assist the efforts of NO-KILL animal shelters ~ "Fancy Dogz For A Homeless Cauze" As many of you already know, I am a passionate breeder of Saint Bernards, Newfoundlands & Great Pryenees, what many of you may not know, is that I am just as passionate about the worldwide problem of homeless pets. In addition to breeding, I also rescue large dogs. It may seem strange to know someone that breeds & rescues...some may think the two just contradict each other~well, I disagree and that's a whole different story! I applaud the efforts of the many NO-KILL animal shelters that have opened. The people that have founded these shelters have dedicated their lives to improving the lives of companion animals while searching for an alternative to unnecessary euthanasia. I also applaud the many volunteers that give themselves on a daily basis to keep these operations up and running. These are not "money making" ventures by any stretch of the imagination~these people are doing this because of the love that is in their hearts.
I was very fortunate in the fall of 2009, to have spent a month with the staff and animals at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah....the home of "Dogtown". This was possibly the most amazing experience of my life. I saw, first hand, the many, many perfectly beautiful, loving animals that had been neglected, abused, used and not loved by the human race~~and I saw the flip side of that coin~the loving, amazing, educated, and patient people that have dedicated their lives to give these animals what they deserve. It is an amazing place and yes, I cried when I had to leave....I wanted to stay there forever~but I came home and my heart and mind had been filled with so many ideas of things that I wanted to do to make a difference, or to possibly help. When I decided to start this campaign, I had 2 main goals in mind~~ 1: To raise funds to assist these shelters, so that they may continue to save lives and place perfectly good animals in loving homes. 2: To raise public awareness about the homeless problem we face~knowledge is key!!
I am offering for sale, designer dog collars & leash sets that I have handcrafted. These items are very special to me and I would be honored for your dog to be wearing one! This is an excellent way for you to get involved, while at the same time, have a very "stylin" pooch! ALL of the proceeds from the sales of my items will be donated directly to NO-KILL animal shelters. The only money that will not be sent is the amount that an item cost me to make~I will then use those funds to purchase more materials to make more items. So basically, the "profit" of each item will be donated. If you make a purchase and have a NO-KILL shelter in mind that you would like your proceeds donated to, please let me know that and I will forward the proceeds to that shelter directly. If you do not specify a shelter, that's ok~I have a list of shelters that I am sending money to and will rotate them so we can reach as many shelters as possible.
